Current State of Play

St.Helen's 'Class'!!
Senior Band

The Senior Band competed in the Second Section at Wilkinson's St. Helen's Contest on Sunday 15th November. Performing Triptych by Philip Sparke, we were delighted to win Second Place, with Chris Larder (our former conductor who many of you are familiar with) storming the section, winning the trophy for best solo performer. Nice one Chris!

Fleetwood Contest
Senior Band

The band competed at Fleetwood Contest yesterday (Sunday 4th Oct) and achieved a very creditable 5th place with 183 points. Pretty good going for our new foray into the Second Section, and an enjoyable day was had by all.

Southport Flower Show
Senior Band

The Senior Band were afforded the honour of being asked to perform at Southport Flower Show over the weekend, as this much loved event celebrated it's 80th Anniversary. The weather did everyone proud especially on Saturday - we played to rapturous applause and calls for more from a delighted audience, sat basking in the sunshine! Judging by the number of our CD's sold perhaps it is time for an official fan club....?!

The whole event was beautifully organised, with stunning floral displays to accompany the stunning music. We are delighted to have been asked back for Southport Flower Show 2010...book your seats now to avoid disappointment!

Hopefully we will have some pictures of the event to show you soon, the band certainly enjoyed the whole weekend as much as the audience.
