The Senior Band once again enjoyed a blooming good weekend playing at the Southport Flower Show! The weather was fantastic so many people enjoyed basking in the sun whilst the band put on several performances to be proud of, including stunning numbers from our talented Soloists. We hope to return next year....
For the band the weekend ended on rather a sad note as Charlotte Cocking, our 2nd Trombone player has now left the fold for pastures new, taking up a new post in London. The band would like to thank Charlotte for her involvement with the band in recent years - and for the many amusing moments! Good Luck Charlotte!!!! |

Morecambe Brass Band have had a busy couple of weekends recently. Last Saturday (12th June) we played for the opening ceremony of the new Hovercraft Station and the naming of Morecambe's newest lifeboat. This was a well attended ceremony, helped largely by the beautiful weather. Sunday (13th June) saw the band marching at Carnforth Civic Parade, a regular event in our annual programme.
Saturday (19th June) saw a smaller group of us playing at another now annual event at Silverdale Gala. It was wonderful to see the sense of community at this event and Morecambe Brass Band were again proud to be a part of this. A lot of time, imagination and thought had obviously gone into the fancy dress costumes - one or two younger members seemed mesmerised by our band uniforms, perhaps a fancy dress idea for the future?!!

Morecambe Band are very proud to announce the fantastic news of promotion to Championship Section (North West). This is a remarkable achievement considering the band was only promoted to second section last October. The band finished second to Oldham Lees band, beating many other famous band such as Besses O' The Barn and the Haydock band. The band's first outing at the highest level of contesting will be in October at Fleetwood contest. |

Morecambe Brass Band played at Christie Park on Saturday 8th May, home of Morecambe Football Club for many years. Work is well under way on the construction of the club's new £12m stadium, but this was to be a symbolic day for a great many local football fans from over the years.
The band played to welcome the thousands of fans into the stadium and again to welcome the players onto the pitch. The atmosphere was fantastic - even more so when Morecambe went on to beat Aldershot FC 1:0 !!
The band would like to thank Morecambe Football Club and the fans for the warm welcome they received and they would enjoy 'Bringing you Sunshine' at future events....
